Legal Status

In 1999 the Environment Agency Austria received the legal status of a limited liability Company (Umweltbundesamt GmbH). As such it is 100% owned by the Republic of Austria, which is represented by the Federal Ministry for Climate Action, Environment, Energy, Mobility, Innovation and Technology.

Code of Conduct

As the largest organisation of environmental experts in Austria, we are fully aware of our responsibilities to society and the environment.

Our actions are guided by the following principles: Independence, transparency, economy, efficiency and advisability, sustainability and fairness.

Our code of conduct helps our employees to adhere to the law in all our dealings with our partners, customers and suppliers. Proper management of our funds is guaranteed by external independent auditors.
