Montenegrin delegation on study visit to Vienna
Umweltbundesamt provides support for improvement of Montenegrin environmental reporting to the European Union
As a cooperation partner of the European Environment Information and Observation Network (EIONET), Montenegro regularly delivers data about the state of the environment to the EU. From 7-11 October the Umweltbundesamt, the Environment Agency Austria, is hosting a study visit on improving the delivered data, with participants from the Eionet network in Montenegro. The aim of the study visit is to prepare the ground for the future development of a work plan for the Nature and Environmental Protection Agency of Montenegro (NEPA) through discussions on the current state of reporting and by defining the key elements. This will serve as a basis for the identification of gaps and challenges and for the formulation of recommendations for the future development of a functioning Eionet reporting system, especially in areas such as water quality, pollution prevention and control, forward-looking information and services, environment and health as well as land cover.
The study visit is organised and funded by the Technical Assistance and Information Exchange Instrument of the European Commission.
