European Photo Competition: Well with Nature
In this year's competition, the European Environment Agency (EEA) was looking for the best photo ideas on the connection between nature and health. The winners were announced on 11 November 2022.
This year's photo competition of the European Environment Agency (EEA) wanted to capture the positive effects of nature on our physical well-being. In line with the motto “Well with Nature”, the EEA was therefore calling for the best motifs that show the connection between nature and health: from impressions of forests or the sea to pictures of gardens and snapshots of flowers on windowsills.
The aim of the competition was to highlight our connection to nature and to raise awareness of environmental protection and nature conservation among Europe's citizens.
„Well with Nature“ in four categories
Up to five photos could be submitted in any of the four competition categories:
- Air
- Water
- Land
- Sound
The winners were announced on 11 November 2022:
Winners of the EEA photo competition
The competition was open to citizens of the EU Member States, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, Switzerland, Turkey, North Macedonia, Albania, Kosovo*, Montenegro, Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina. All participants had to be 18 years or older. Further information can be found on the competition page.
* This designation is without prejudice to positions on status, and it is in line with UNSCR 1244 and the ICJ Opinion on the Kosovo declaration of independence.
