European Photo Competition: ZeroWastePIX
The annual photo competition of the European Environment Agency (EEA) sought the best photos about production and consumption. Under the motto “ZeroWastePIX”, photos from circular economy to consumer madness should be submitted. Now the winning photos have been chosen.
This year's photo competition of the European Environment Agency (EEA) had the goal to raise the awareness of production systems and consumption patterns, since those have a huge impact on our environment. Unsustainable consumption and production patterns threaten our nature and well-being as human species. ZeroWastePIX has the aim to encourage the self-reflection of current systems as well as drawing attention to better, more sustainable alternatives.
The submitted photographs had been categorized in four categories:
- Circular and smart
- Eco-lifestyles
- Wasteful production
- Consumption mania
The winners for each category were announced on 13 November 2023. Winners of EEA’s 2023 Zero Waste PIX photo competition announced (europa.eu)
The competition was open to the citizens of the EU 27 Member States, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, Switzerland and Türkiye; under the stabilisation and association agreements: North Macedonia, Albania, Kosovo*, Montenegro, Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
