The Twinning project attempted to develop a new waste strategy for Serbia. The overall objective was to ensure the protection of human health, the environment and inhabitants. Earlier projects were taken into account regarding the formation of the new system. One strength of the project was the collaboration not only of the experts from Austria, Sweden and Lithuania, but also experts from Germany, Poland and Romania, all sharing their diverse experiences. Umweltbundesamt - the Environment Agency Austria, as consortium leader was in charge of the overall project management, the mobilization of resources and the liaison with clients and project beneficiaries.
Services provided:
- Development of a New National Waste Management Strategy (WMS)
- Development of a National Waste Management Plan (NWMP) in line with requirements of Serbian Law on Waste Management
- Development of a National Waste Prevention Programme (WPP)
