As part of the Danunbe Water Programme, the Worldbank conducted a project to update the State of the Sector report 2015. The essential part of this report was a comprehensive review of the water and wastewater services in 16 countries of the Danube region. It presented comparable results across EU members, EU candidates (including potential accession candidates), and Non-EU countries.
The objective of the consultancy by the Umweltbundesamt (Environment Agency Austria) was to update the state of knowledge on water supply and sanitation challenges in the Danube region.
