The report on Austria’s Annual Air Emission Inventory 1990–2014,
compiled by the Umweltbundesamt (Environment Agency Austria),
provides a summary of Austria’s provisional emission inventory for the
year 2014 and the final emission inventory for the year 2013 according
to Article 8 of the NEC Directive.
Over the period between 2013 and 2014, emissions of sulphur dioxide
(SO2) increased by 0.9%, nitrogen oxide emissions (NOx) decreased by
4.3%, non-methane volatile organic compounds (NMVOCs) decreased
by 4.2% and ammonia emissions (NH3) increased by 0.7%.
The comparison with the national emission ceilings to be attained by
2010 shows that in 2014 emissions of SO2, and NMVOC were below these
ceilings, whereas the NOx emissions were considerably above them.
The NH3 emissions as well show an exceedance of the ceiling for 2014.
